I love art that's based on realism but floats beyond it to portray an emotion or vibe. It has to feel fresh, raw and pure. Nature, music, film, meditation and dreams are muses for me. I'm generally inclined to beautiful or pretty things that come with their own personal and natural dark edges of imperfection.

 

I paint mostly with oils. A bit of planning upfront and then I try to step aside and let the painting evolve how it wants to. Applying various levels of force, volume, and looseness dictated by the unique energy of the moment. I paint en plein air, from photos, and from pure imagination.​​
